
Braves to hold auction

The Richmond Braves will hold an on-line auction of baseball memorabilia to benefit Little League Baseball in Petersburg beginning on Wednesday, September 13th at 9 AM. The auction will include game worn jerseys, autographed balls from the AAA All-Star game and the Carolina League All-Star game, an R Braves team autographed bat, a Chipper Jones 1999 Rookie of the Year Lapel Pin, a John Smoltz bobblehead, and other memorabilia. All the proceedes of this auction will go to Operation Diamond to help develop a little league program in Petersburg VA. Operation Diamond is a vision of city- wide collaboration that has become reality with the direction of Cassandra S. Burns, Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Petersburg. In order to meet and face the challanges faced by Petersburgh, Burns has brought together key leaders to unite in this mission from the four dimensions of the City: Law Enforcement, Faith- Based organizations, Communities and Schools.
