
Braves fall to 'Hens

Toledo, OH - The Toledo Mud Hens beat the Richmond Braves 3-2 Monday at Fifth Third Field. The Mud Hens held off a late Richmond rally to end the Braves three game winning streak.
The Braves grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Barbaro Canizares. The Mud Hens moved in front with a pair of runs in the third on RBI singles by Maxwell Leon and Freddy Guzman. Toledo added a run in the fifth on an RBI fielder's choice by Clete Thomas. Richmond scored in the ninth on a home run by Scott Thorman. The Braves left two men on in the ninth.
Matt Rusch earned the win. Virginia State product Clay Rapada notched a save. Anthony Lerew took the loss. Guzman and Leon had two hits each for the Mud Hens. Canizares had three hits for the Braves.
The Braves close a four game series at Toledo Tuesday at 7 PM. Richmond returns home to face Charlotte Wednesday at 7 PM. For more information please call (804) 359-4444) or visit www.rbraves.com.
