Two of the Lightning fan favorites, Brant Bailey and Sidney Holmes, have signed to play for two new clubs this CBA off-season.
Guard/forward, Brant Bailey has followed his former Lightning teammates and has signed to play for Guaros de Lara in Venezuela. Bailey played in 35 games for the Bolts this year averaging over 17 points per game. Bailey shot an amazing 55.2 % from the field and owns the CBA record for shooting 17 free throws in one game.
"I am very thankful that the Lightning helped to put this deal together for me." Said Bailey "This will be my first time playing in Venezuela, I am very excited for the opportunity. I hope that I can achieve the same amount of success that I had with the Lightning here in Venezuela."
Sidney Holmes is currently competing for a roster spot in veteran's camp with the Rome (Georgia) Gladiators of the World Basketball Association (WBA). The 6'6 inch power forward is being coached by Atlanta Hawk advance scout and former Lightning player, Harold Ellis. The WBA season runs through the months of May, June, and July.
"This is a great opportunity for Sidney to hone is skills and work on his basketball weakness and strengths." Said Coach Daleo. " We expect big things out of Sidney next year, and I hope that his time in Rome will really help his game and keep him sharp."
