Brahmas struggles continue against Mudbugs

The Fort Worth Brahmas struggles continued against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday night, as the Mudbugs downed the Brahmas 4-2 in a critical Northeast Division game at the Century-Tel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Bossier-Shreveport forward Ryan Manitowich paced the Bugs offensive attack, scoring two goals and assisting on one more. D-man Jason Basile and winger Chris Brassard also scored in the game for Bossier.

Center Bryan Lundbohm and forward Derek Seal netted goals in the losing effort for Fort Worth.

Goaltender Ken Carroll got the win in net for the Bugs, stopping 23 of the 25 Brahmas shots he faced in the game. Rookie netminder Larry Sterling took the loss for the Brahmas, allowing the four Bossier goals on 28 shots.

The loss for the Brahmas pushed their current winless streak to five consecutive games (0-3-2) and drops Fort Worth into a tie with Bossier-Shreveport for the Northeast Division lead with 27 points. Bossier and Fort Worth now have identical 12-7-3 records on the season. The Brahmas have lost four of the five games they have played against Bossier this season.

Fort Worth will try to bounce back tomorrow night, Saturday, December 18 when they travel to Austin to face off against the Ice Bats at 7:35 p.m. from The Bat Cave in Austin. The game can be heard live on KTFW 1460 AM with the pregame show beginning at 7:20 p.m.
