Lone Star Brahmas News Release

The Lonestar Brahmas are pleased to announce three more players have signed tenders to join the team for the 2014-2015 season.

The first defenseman tendered by the Brahmas this year is 18 year old Andy Madej from the Chicago Mission U18 team.  Andy has 5 goals and 16 assists in 19 league games for the perennial national power Chicago Mission youth program.  Madej is a former teammate of current Brahma's goalie TJ Black.

Head Coach Dan Wildfong is very high on Madej's ability to contribute next season, "Andy is one of the top defenseman in all of U18 hockey this year.  There was a number of teams in our league trying to tender him and we are certainly happy he choose the Brahmas.  We look for Andy to be a big part of our team next season."

The second player who has recently tendered with the Brahmas is 18 year old Canterbury Prep School forward Mark Bowen.  Mark joins Derek Barach as the Brahma's second Division I committed tender, both are committed to Mercyhurst University.   The 5'8" 165lb Bowen has registered 6 goals and 7 assists in 17 games for Canterbury so far this season.

Coach Wildfong sees Mark as being a big part of the Brahma's offensive attack next year. "Mark is a proven scorer at the prep school level and we look for him to continue that in a Brahma's jersey.  We look forward to helping continue Mark's development before he plays at the Division I level for Mercyhurst in 2016."

The third player the Brahma's would like to announce is 18 year old goaltender Brian Baker from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  Brian is currently playing for the Pittsburgh Esmark Stars U18 team of the North American Prospects Hockey League.   Brian is leading the NAPHL in all statistical goaltending categories in 12 games with a 1.00 GAA and a 0.947 save percentage.

Coach Wildfong sees Brian being a very successful goalie for the Brahmas in the future. "Brian is someone that has been on our radar all year and his dominance in the NAPHL has shown he is ready to make the jump to the NAHL next season."
