NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 19) - The Brahmas (12-9-4) defeated the Wichita Thunder by the score of 5-1 Wednesday night, extending their point streak at home to nine games.

The Brahmas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Derrick Pallis streaked down the left side and snuck a backhanded shot by Wichita netminder Kevin Regan at the 7:06 mark of the first period.

Fort Worth extended its lead to 3-0 in the second period, as Phil Fox and Nick Schneider each notched a goal in the middle frame.

Just 4:30 into the third period, Fox added his second goal of the night on a Brahmas' 5-on-3 powerplay. For Fox, it was his second goal of the night and third consecutive game with two goals. 44 seconds later, Adam Hogg scored the Brahmas' second powerplay goal of the period, his sixth score of the season.

Kevin Young, the CHL's reigning player of the week, scored a third-period goal for the Thunder to ruin the shutout for Fort Worth goaltender Kristofer Westblom.

Westblom made 24 saves on 25 Wichita shots, moving to 6-1-2 this season. The 25-year-old goalie improved his league-best 1.52 goals against average and regained the CHL lead in save percentage at .936.

Regan stopped 17 of 22 shots in net for the Thunder before being replaced by backup Torrie Jung for the final 14:36. Jung stopped all eight shots he faced.

Fort Worth is back in action Saturday, December 22 as the team returns to the Fort Worth Convention Center to take on the Missouri Mavericks at 7:30pm.
