Brahmas Release Roster for 2011-12 Season

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (October 21) - In preparation for the start of the 2011-12 regular season, the Texas Brahmas have released their opening day roster.
The Brahmas have little turnover from last season, returning only four players from the 2010-11 team: Chad Woollard, Jim Burichin, Alex Curran and Ross Rouleau.
Woollard returns for his 7th year with the Brahmas, after a productive season in which he led the CHL in goals with 46, and finished 5th in points with 92. He holds the franchise record in games played (532), points (400), goals (178), shots (1287), game winning goals (23) and powerplay goals (50).
Rouleau rejoins the Brahmas for his fourth year with the team. He has played 136 regular season games and 27 postseason games for the franchise, providing experience to an otherwise new and young defense.
Among the many new faces, the Brahmas brought in veteran Steve Silverthorn to be the starting goalie. Silverthorn has experience playing in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads and the AHL with the Iowa Stars, and spent the past three seasons in the German league Bundesliga. In the Brahmas' 5-0 preseason win against Allen on Saturday, Silverthorn stopped all 22 shots fired on goal by the Americans.
The Brahmas' season opener will be combined with a World Series watching party, with televisions set up throughout the NYTEX Sports Centre and in ZuRoma to allow fans to watch Game 3 between the Rangers and Cardinals.
The Brahmas open up their 15th season against the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday, October 22nd at 7:30 pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre, looking to make the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.
