Americans Open Season at Home Vs Tulsa

Allen Texas-The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League open the regular season tonight October, 21st at home against the Tulsa Oilers.
The Governors Cup Champions return eight players from the 2010-2011 roster, Dylan King, Mike Berube, Ryan Hand, Scott Langdon, Brian McMillin, Jarret Lukin, CHL All Stars Colton Yellow Horn, and Bruce Graham.
The Americans begin their third season in the Central Hockey League tonight having won a combined 89 games over the last two seasons, more than any other team in the CHL.
Americans Head Coach and GM Dwight Mullins returns for his third year behind the Bench along with his Associate Coach longtime friend Bill McDonald. Mullins played for McDonald and won a championship with the Ft Worth Fire in the mid 90's.
"He's my best friend and a valuable part of this organization" said Head Coach Mullins, when speaking of McDonald. "We have a great working relationship" Mullins coached the CHL All Star team last year in Rapid City comprised of All Stars in the league against the Rapid City Rush the 2009 2010 CHL Champions.
The Americans welcome several newcomers this season including former Texas Brahmas Captain Jason Deitsch, who won a championship with Texas in 2008-2009. Mike Kompon a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario who played the last several years in Germany.
Nick Layton who Americans fans are already familiar with, Layton played on the Bossier/ Shreveport Mudbugs Championship team last season, and Tyler Ludwig who played his junior hockey down the road in Frisco with the Texas Tornado.
The Americans were 1-1 in the preseason recording a 2-1 shooutout win over the Brahmas last Friday night. The Americans lost a 5-0 decision following night at Texas.
The Americans will travel to Wichita tonight after the game for the first road trip of the season the Americans meet the Thunder tomorrow night at 7:05 you can hear the game with Tommy Daniels on the play by play beginning at 6:50 pm on www.975klak.com
