NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (June 29)- The Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) are proud to announce the return of Nathan Saunders, a vital part in the Brahmas strong defense in their 2009 Championship, for the 2010-11 campaign.

Saunders returns to the Texas Brahmas following a 36 game stint n LNAH with the Riviere-du-Loup team (LNAH-Quebec based pro league) last year. In the LNAH the Charlottetown, PEI native recorded 12 points (7 G, 5A) and 97 penalty minutes.

During his time with the Brahmas, Saunders created the ultimate tough guy reputation collecting 159 PIM during their President's Cup Championship season. In 36 games in 2009, he finished +16 on the ice and had his best offensive season of his career with 15 points (4 G, 11 A), followed by +5 for the playoffs.

Saunders will spend his sixth season in pro hockey with the Brahmas but began his career as the #119 pick in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He has played in the AHL, ECHL, LNAH and CHL in his five year professional career. Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong looks forward to having a piece of their championship history guarding the blue line for another post-season run for the fourth straight season.

"Bringing in a player like Nathan fills in the void we had last season with grit and heart. Those are characteristics that cannot be taught, so we are happy to get him back for next season," said Wildfong.

Saunders joins forward Jason Deitsch and defenseman Jim Burichin to the Brahmas 2010-11 roster. Texas Brahmas season tickets are on sale now; for more information please contact the Brahmas offices at (817) 336-4423 or log on to: www.brahmas.com .
