Lone Star Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS - The Lone Star Brahmas hit the road again this weekend to face-off against the Wichita Falls Warriors Friday and Saturday. This is the first time in North American Hockey League history that the Brahmas will play the Warriors, as it is Wichita Falls' inaugural season in the NAHL.

"We have a great opportunity this weekend on the road to keep the momentum rolling after some great games played by the team and leave Wichita Falls with four points," said veteran Brahmas defenseman, Malcolm Palmer. "It's crucial we play the way we have been, especially against a new, fast and skilled team in Wichita Falls. We want to win the road war."

The Brahmas hope to continue their five-game win streak on Friday and Saturday in Wichita Falls, after earning the two-game sweep against Amarillo last weekend. The Brahmas now sit at the top of the South Division with a record of 5-1-0 in six games played.

"We have been putting a lot of hours in this week in preparation for Wichita this weekend," said newcomer to the team, Nick Young. "Last weekend we played well as a team and took it to Amarillo, but now we are focused on what's next. We are pumped up and ready to hit Wichita hard this weekend with full speed and hard work ethic. With all the work on-ice and off-ice we have done has mentally and physically prepared us for any game; now it's up to us to carry that into the game and I know we have the guys to do exactly that."

The Brahmas have had an exciting week, as forward Nicholas Niemo earned league accolades as Bauer's South Division Star of the Week and verbally committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Bentley University. Never ones to rest on their laurels, the Brahmas are ready to continue the season and play until the final buzzer.

"We've been working all week getting ready for these games," said forward TJ Koufis. "We want to show them Brahmas hockey. We know we will be ready when the puck drops on Friday."

Games will be played at Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. each night. The match-ups will be available to watch on HockeyTV.
