San Antonio Brahmas News Release
San Antonio is held without a touchdown for the first time this season in a low-scoring affair that resulted in a 15-6 Seattle victory.
Making Them Earn It
For the first time since week one, Seattle was held to just one passing touchdown. The Brahmas defense held Seattle's number one ranked passing offense in check, allowing just 264 passing yards, more than 20 yards less than their season average.
First Things First
For the fourth straight game, San Antonio drew first blood and put points on the board first. Kicker Parker Romo made a 38-yard field goal with 0:38 left in the first quarter to give the Brahmas a 3-0 lead. The field goal capped off an 11 play, 60-yard drive.
Big Leg Romo
To end the second half, Parker Romo nailed a 57-yard field goal to tie the game at 6-6. Romo's 57-yarder is the longest made field goal in the XFL this season. It also was Romo's fourth made field goal of 40+ yards.
Luq Bar-Cool
Cornerback Luq Barcoo held the XFL's leading receiver Josh Gordon to just two catches and 12 yards throughout the first half. Barcoo had three pass break-ups and only allowed one first down reception. He had a crucial interception with 1:44 left in the fourth quarter to give the Brahmas a second chance at a comeback. Barcoo has not allowed a touchdown reception, nor committed a defensive penalty this season.
Dazzling Debut
In his Brahmas debut, receiver Travis Toivonen set a new game-high for receiving yards with 54. In the third quarter, Toivonen hauled in the Brahmas longest reception of the season for a 30-yard gain. Toivonen set two new game highs in his season debut.
Through the Air
The Brahmas offense relied on moving the ball through the air more than usual. San Antonio had a season-low 11 rushing attempts, which was 15 less than their previous low. The Brahmas threw the ball a season high 39 times for 189 yards. Receiver Jalen Tolliver set a new game-high for receptions with six catches for 39 yards.
