Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays came to NYTEX Sports Centre for their only pre-season game and the Brahmas struggled to keep pace with the fresh legs. Haunted by defensive-zone turnovers and the inability to net more than one goal on 37 shots, the Brahmas came up short, losing 2-1.
Alex Berardinelli (Greensburg, PA) opened the scoring at 17:01 of the first period on a two-on-one that he buried glove-side high.  Peter Kessel (Detroit, MI) was awarded the lone assist.  However, that would be the only goal scored for the home whites all night. In net, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, FL) started the game for Lone Star allowing one goal on 11 shots against. Darion Hanson (East Bethel, MN) relieved O'Brien halfway through the second period and allowed one goal on 7 shots. Stevie Bryant and Carter Johnson were the goal scorers for Corpus Christi.
The Brahmas pre-season has now concluded and the team will travel to Amarillo on Saturday for their regular season opener. The team's home opener at NYTEX is Friday, October 9th against the same Amarillo Bulls. Click TICKETS to purchase or call 817-336-4ICE.
