NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - Jesse Perrin's game-winning goal just 11 seconds into overtime gave the Missouri Mavericks a 2-1 victory over the Fort Worth Brahmas.
Shawn Szydlowski scored the first goal of the game at 10:05 of the first period when he fired a wrister from the slot past Missouri netminder Mike Clemente. For Szydlowski, the score was his 10th of the season and first since February 5.
The Mavericks evened the score at the 6:13 mark of the second period when Colt King found the back of the net. It was King's 14th goal of the 2012-13 campaign.
After a scoreless third period, the game went to overtime. Perrin streaked down the right side and snuck the puck past Brahmas goaltender Brad Fogal just 11 seconds in for the game-winner.
Fogal (12-10-1) made 27 saves on 29 shots in net for Fort Worth, but earned the overtime loss. Clemente improved to 20-10-3, stopping 26 of 27 between the posts for Missouri.
The Brahmas are back in action at the NYTEX Sports Centre tomorrow, Saturday, February 23 when the team hosts the cross-town rival Allen Americans at 7:30pm.
