Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Texas Brahmas scored with 2:49 left in regulation, it would turn out to be the game winner as the Brahmas even the series at 1, with a 4-3 win Sunday at the Allen Event Center.
The Brahmas jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Dan Nichols broke in alone on the right side, firing one past Reggie Beauchemin from inside the right circle to put Texas in the lead. The Americans would answer twice before the period came to a close; first Jarret Lukin found Bruce Graham in front of the net for his 3rd of the playoffs to tie the game at 1-1. Then, Keith Johnson netted his second of the post-season firing one from the left side face-off circle that beat Guggenburger to give Allen their first lead at 2-1.
The Brahmas scored twice in the second, once on the power-play when Chad Woolard fired home his first of the playoffs, then the Brahmas regained the lead after an Allen turnover in their own end. Andrew Lackner found himself all alone in front of the Americans net, beating Rejean Beauchemin to the blocker side to make the score 3-2 Texas after 2 periods.
The Americans came out flying in the third, firing shot after shot on Texas netminder Mark Guggenburger, and finally at the 14:45 mark of the period, Jason Deitsch let one go from deep in the corner that found its way in the net to tie the score for the third time at 3-3. However, the Brahmas would answer once more time, when a turnover off a face-off ended up in an odd man rush in the other direction, TJ Fox pumped one home from the right face-off circle to give Texas the final lead of the night, as the Brahmas would hang on for a 4-3 victory to even the series at 1-1.
