Rio Grande Valley Dorados News Release

HIDALGO, TX: December 1, 2004 – The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 are pleased to announce they have been assigned offensive/defensive lineman John Bradley by the af2.

"John is big and athletic and his abilities are perfect for the af2," said Dorados Head Coach Kevin Guy. "He is a real asset in the pass rush on defense and he is a solid blocker with good hands to use at the tight end spot on the offensive side of the ball."

Bradley brings size to the Dorados line with a 6'5" 275-pound frame and he played last season under Kevin Guy with the Tennessee Valley Vipers. The Tupelo, Mississippi native played in 13 games with the Vipers and collected 13.5 tackles (5 solo) and ranked second on the squad in sacks (2.5) and tied for third in tackles for a loss (2.5). Bradley, who plays tight end on the offensive line, found the endzone in his first professional game and registered 34 yards off four receptions over the season. He also returned two kickoffs for 36 yards.

Prior to turning pro, the 26 year-old played collegially at Itawamba Community College (Tupelo, MS) and North Alabama (Florence, AL). While at Itawamba, a JUCO program which has produced Duce Staley and Joe Horn, Bradley played football and basketball and was a Second Team North Division member on the 1997 Mississippi JUCO All-State Team. He was on recruiting lists at both Mississippi State and Ole Miss and would have been in the same recuiting class as Eli Manning at Ole Miss, but chose to transfer to the University of North Alabama. Bradley redshirted in 2000 and served in a reserve role in 2001, appearing in 10 games. He had 3 receptions for 33 yards offensively and also returned 3 kickoffs. As a senior in 2002, Bradley primarily served as a blocker in UNA's offense but did contribute offensively with three receptions for 55 yards and two touchdowns. He was a backup on defense and had three assisted tackles , including an assisted sack, in 9 games. Bradley made a trip to south Texas last year, playing in the 2003 Cactus Bowl in Kingsville, which is the NCAA Div. II All-Star Game. In high school, Bradley attended Tupelo High School and was a two-time all-state honoree. He also lettered in track and basketball.

Bradley is the second player assigned to the Dorados 2005 roster, and he joins Josh Kellett (QB) who also comes to Rio Grande Valley from Tennessee Valley.

The Dorados kick-off their 2005 campaign April 9th at the Dodge Arena, as they host the Louisville Fire. Season ticket packages and advertising opportunities are available by contacting the Dorados offices at 956-843-7825.
