Bradenton Juice News Release
BRADENTON, FL- The Bradenton Juice today announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Andrew Biesanz. The 21-year old Biesanz becomes the second pitcher signed by the Juice, joining fellow lefty Lavelle Morgan on the staff.
The Winona, Minnesota native received his contract in the mail from the Juice just before the holidays and called it, "the best Christmas present I ever got."
Biesanz (pronounced BEE-sohns) played at American River College in California last season. He logged most of his time as a position player, but made his biggest impression on the mound. Biesanz allowed just 9 hits and 3 walks in 11 innings, while striking out 9 and compiling a 0.87 earned run average.
"Andy's a big kid," Juice manager James Frisbee said of the 6'3" 200-pound Biesanz, who he projects as a reliever, "It's always nice to have a few lefties on the staff."
With the addition of Biesanz, eight players have been signed by the Juice for the 2007 season. The team will also be scouting players next month at two South Coast League tryout camps, scheduled for February 9 in Los Angeles and February 23 in Houston.
The Juice offers fan-friendly, affordable fun. They open their 2007 South Coast League schedule on May 17, and will play 45 home games at Manatee Community College. Season tickets are available now by calling 941-761-HOME.
