Saginaw, Mich. - Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced Friday that Associate Coach Brad Flynn has accepted a head coaching job with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

"I would like to thank the ownership group starting with Dick Garber, Craig Goslin, and Brandon Bordeaux, General Manager Dave Drinkill, Head Coach Chris Lazary, Assistant Coach Jesse Messier, as well as all the players and staff. I had a great experience working alongside everyone during my time in Saginaw. Thank you to the community for their unwavering support this season. The future is very bright in Saginaw."

Flynn managed the penalty kill for the Spirit, which finished 8th in the league at a success rate of 80.8% and scored 16 shorthanded goals, tied for second most in the Ontario Hockey League this season and third most in franchise history.

Brad and his father, Danny, are the first ever father and son to coach in all three leagues of the Canadian Hockey League.
