July 19, 2002 – The Chicago Rush announced today that it has signed kicker Ignacio Brache to a contract for the remainder of the season. To make room on its roster for Brache, the Rush waived kicker Adam Hicks. Additionally, the Rush placed kicker David Cool on the Arena Football League's injured reserve list.

Brache (6-1, 205, California) appeared in five games earlier this season with the Detroit Fury, converting 11 of 20 extra point attempts and three of 10 field goal attempts. Last season, Brache kicked in 13 games for the Arizona Rattlers making 74 of 94 extra point tries and converting 10 of 19 field goals.

Hicks, who appeared in two games for Chicago, converted all 15 of his extra point attempts and one of his four field goal attempts.

Cool is eligible to be activated from injured reserve prior to Chicago's AFL quarterfinal playoff game next month.

The Rush concludes its regular season Saturday against the Indiana Firebirds. Kickoff for the Rush-Firebirds game at Allstate Arena is set for 7 p.m. Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the game may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
