
Both MLS Cup 2004 participants to train Friday at Home Depot Center

CARSON, CALIF. (Thursday, November 11, 2004) - The two teams participating in MLS Cup 2004, the Eastern Conference Champion D.C. United and Western Conference Champion Kansas City Wizards, will be training at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., on Friday, November 12.
MLS Cup 2004, Major League Soccer's ninth championship game and the crown jewel of American soccer, will be played at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, November 14 at 12:30 pm (PT).
The Wizards, gunning for their second MLS Cup after winning it all in 2000, will train first, hitting Training Field #3 at 9:30 am. Meanwhile, D.C. United, going for their fourth MLS Cup title and first since 1999, is set to train at 1:30 pm. Each club will be available to the Media immediately following the conclusion of their respective training sessions.
In between the training sessions, the League will host the MLS Cup 2004 Media Luncheon at The Home Depot Center Stadium Club, where the each of the participating coaches and their captains as well as MLS Commissioner Don Garber will address the national media contingent present. In addition, several 2004 MLS Award winners will be announced: Goalkeeper of the Year, Defender of the Year, Coach of the Year, Gatorade Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, USSF Humanitarian of the Year, Kraft Fair Play Award, OSI Referee of the Year, Sierra Mist Goal of the Year, and Nickelodeon Gas Play of the Year. All the finalists for the aforementioned awards will also be on hand.
The event will be emceed by the play-by-play voice for Sunday's game on ABC Sports, JP Dellacamera and sideline reporter Lorrie Fair. Lunch will be served on the Stadium Club's East Terrace at the conclusion of the event.
