HANOVER, Mass. (May 14, 2015) - The Boston Breakers announced the signing of defender Lauren Lazo earlier today. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lazo, who was a trialist with the Breakers during the 2015 preseason, was a three-time All-Ivy League player and a 2014 First-team NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection at Princeton University. She started 64 of the 65 games for the Tigers and scored 28 goals during her career, which spanned from 2011-2014.

"Lauren is an intelligent, athletic, and good technical player," Boston Breakers head coach Tom Durkin said. "She came highly recommended from Harvard coach Ray Leone?, and is a mature, responsible, and highly capable on both sides of the ball. She has a very good delivery from the flank which makes her a very good prospect as an attacking type of right fullback that we are looking for the future."

The Scottsdale, Ariz. native co-captained the Tigers in 2014 and finished the season with eight goals and 10 assists, which ranked her second in program history for single-season assists.

Over the last five years, Lazo played in the Women's Premier Soccer League for Phoenix del Sol and in the W-League last year with the LA Blues.

Prior to landing at Princeton, Lazo played club soccer for S.C. Del Sol Maxwell, and during her time there, she won eight Arizona state championships and helped the team maintain a national top-10 ranking.
