
Bossier-Shreveport defeats Alabama, 49-32

Birmingham, Ala. - The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings rode a 117-yard performance by receiver Jamaal Perry on their way to a 49-32 victory on Friday night in front of 5,612 fans at the BJCC Arena.
Perry scored two touchdowns on five catches in the victory to lead all receivers. Alabama was led in receiving by Herman Bell, who caught nine balls for 71 yards and one score.
The BattleWings (8-2) scored 21 points in the second half to open an 11-point lead. Alabama (5-5) closed the gap to a touchdown on a field goal by kicker Nick Hayes and a touchdown catch by receiver Jon Olinger, but the Steeldogs would never get closer.
Bossier-Shreveports' Gary Cooper completed 14-of-24 passes for 227 yards and five scores, while the Steeldogs' Mitch Tanney was 23-of-42 for 223 yards and three TDs.
Chris Ibezam led all defensive players with 10.5 total tackles, one pass defended and one forced fumble. The Steeldogs were led defensively by Adrian Ghent, who finished with four total tackles.
The Steeldogs travel to face top-ranked Wilkes-Barre Scranton (8-0) next Saturday while the BattleWings return home to host Corpus Christi (1-8) the same day.
