HEAD COACHES: First-year Battle Wings head coach Keith Barefield's resume includes 19 years in the field, 10 as head coach at Evangel University in Springfield, MO where he compiled a 66-33-2 record. He coached 48 All-Americans before moving to San Antonio's Cornerstone Christian School to begin the football program there. While at Cornerstone, Barefield compiled a 23-2 record in two years at the helm including the 2002 Texas state championship.
Just recently, Barefield has been named the offensive coordinator at national prep power Evangel Christian in Shreveport (1999 National Champions).


Columbus Wardogs- John Fourcade, former New Orleans Saints quarterback, who played his college ball at Ole Miss, is in his second year with the Wardogs. He led the Florida Firecats to the AF2 championship game in 2002. Fourcade has been in football for 25 years as both player and coach. Defensive coordinator Al Pellegrino.




SERIES NOTABLES: The first meeting between the two teams was in May of 2003 when the Wings won 34-31. In Georgia, one month later, Columbus won 46-32.
The two teams play each other back-to-back, this week in Bossier City, next week in Columbus, GA.
