Tuesday, May 18th - Bakersfield Blitz OS Steve Wofford and DS Kenny Haslip will be Celebrity Readers at Lakeside School's Celebrity Reader Day. BSE Account Manager Shannon McAnulty will join Wofford and Haslip as they each read to two classrooms beginning at 9:00am. Lakeside School is located at 14535 Old River Road in Bakersfield.

Wednesday, May 19th - Select Bakersfield Blitz players will be attending Franklin School's Career Day beginning at 9:00am. Franklin's Career Day is part of the "Just Say No" week which runs Monday, May 17th - Friday, May 21st. Franklin School is located at 2400 Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield.

Thursday, May 20th - Bakersfield Sports Entertainment and the Bakersfield Blitz Football Toss will be at the "Downtown Summer Street Faire" from 6:30pm - 9:30. This month's theme is emergency medical services. BSE will be at the corner of 20th Street and Chester Avenue.

Thursday, May 20th - Come on down to the Holiday Inn Select for the Indoor War Report with Blitz Head Coach Rick Van Horne, as well as select Blitz players from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The IWR is a great chance for fans to meet their favorite members of the 2004 Blitz as well as win great prizes. The Holiday Inn Select is located at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Q Street. The show can also be heard live each week on KGEO AM 1230.

Friday, May 21st - Tune in to KGET-TV 17 "17 at Sunrise" at 6:20am as Steve Wofford will be talking about Steve Wofford Jersey Night on Saturday, May 22nd where the first 2,00 children 12 and under will receive a #3 Wofford replica jersey.

Friday, May 21st - Tune in to K-Lite 105.3 for the Breakfast with the Blitz beginning at 7:40am. Every home game during the 2004 season select Blitz players will enjoy breakfast with a lucky fan. This Friday Steve Wofford will be in the studio. Tune in Thursday morning to qualify for your chance to have Breakfast with the Blitz.

Friday, May 21st - Bakersfield Blitz mascot Crusher will be at the Roosevelt School Carnival from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Roosevelt School is located at 2324 Verde Street in Bakersfield.

Friday, May 21st - Bakersfield Blitz mascot Crusher will be at Quailwood Elementary School's Family Fun Night from 7:00pm - 8:15pm. Quailwood Elementary School is located at 7301 Remington Avenue in Bakersfield.

Saturday, May 22nd - Bakersfield Blitz mascot Crusher will be at the Super CPR Saturday event at the Bakersfield Convention Center beginning at 9:30am. The event is an all day event, beginning at 7:00am and ending at 1:00pm, in which residents of Bakersfield ages 12 and older can learn CPR from the American Red Cross - Kern Chapter at no charge. The classes begin every hour and are also available in Spanish. For more information contact the American Red Cross at 324-6427.

Saturday, May 22nd - Join the Bakersfield Blitz when they host the Memphis Xplorers as KGET-TV 17, K-Lite 105.3 & ADT Security Services sponsor #3 Steve Wofford Replica Jersey Giveaway Night. The first 2,000 children, 12 and under, will receive a special Steve Wofford Blitz Jersey.

THANK YOU BLITZ FANS! This past Saturday, May 15th the Bakersfield Blitz held the first "Jersey Off Our Backs" raffle and auction in Blitz history. Players wore special Armed Forces theme jerseys that were auctioned off immediately following the game. The auction raised $5,075 with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club of Bakersfield.
