Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. (May 17, 2004) - The arenafootball2 league office announced today that lineman Marc Hayes and defensive back Tally Adams have been assigned to the Manchester Wolves, New England's newest professional football team. Both players will practice with the team this week as the Wolves prepare for their next game this Friday night, May 21, against the Birmingham Steeldogs at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

Hayes returns to the Wolves after a successful rookie campaign in 2003 in which he appeared in nine games. As a midseason addition, the 21-year-old native of Hyattsville, MD adapted quickly to the arena game, tallying 6.0 total tackles during the regular season, including 1.5 sacks. Hayes also saw action in both playoff games for the Wolves in 2003 and recorded one tackle, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. As a collegian, Hayes played in 41 games over his four-year career at the University of Rhode Island, finishing with 202 total tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. As a senior in 2002, he finished second on the squad in tackles for loss with eight and tied for second in sacks with four.

"Hayes is a big, physical lineman who played well for the team during their playoff run last season," Wolves Head Coach Rik Richards said. "If he's in shape and focused, he can be a major player for us."

Adams comes to the Wolves from Union College, an NAIA school in Barbourville, KY. The 5-11, 205-pound Auburndale, FL native played three seasons at Union and was a three-time member of the Don Hansen National Weekly Football Gazette NAIA All-American Team (2000, 2001 & 2002). Adams saw action in 29 games with the Bulldogs and registered 146 total tackles, including 16.5 for loss. Adams also recorded nine interceptions over his career and 18 pass breakups.

"Tally is a natural defensive back who enjoyed a lot of success in college," Richards said. "He has the ability, but he's going to be tested this week."
