
Boscán and Mcgovern Help West Division Win AAPB All-Star Game

Fargo-Moorhead first baseman Manuel Boscán and left-handed pitcher Kevin McGovern each played in a role in leading the West Division to a 7-6 victory over the East Division in the 2022 American Association All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Rosemont, Ill.. It was the first AAPB All-Star game since 2019. Right fielder John Silviano and pitchers Tyler Grauer and Alex DuBord also appeared in the game for the RedHawks. Sioux Falls' slugger Jabari Henry was the hero for the West Division, as he hit a three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give the West the 7-6 lead.
Boscán, who has ten home runs and 39 RBI in 45 games this season, hit a two-run home run in the first inning to give the West a 4-0 lead. In the second inning McGovern pitched a 1-2-3 inning and struck out two batters. McGovern is tied for the most wins (6) and the second-most strikeouts (69) in the league so far this season. Grauer pitched in the fourth inning and allowed two solo home runs. Dubord pitched in the eighth inning and allowed a double but did not allow a run, keeping the score at 6-4.
The RedHawks (36-16) will resume their regular season with a four-game series against the Chicago Dogs (35-17) starting on Thursday night. The two teams currently lead the West and East Division respectively. RHP Davis Feldman (3-2, 3.85 ERA) will start in the series opener for Fargo-Moorhead and will face RHP Jordan Kipper (5-1, 2.56 ERA) of Chicago.
