Oklahoma City Blazers News Release
Oklahoma City, Okla. â Oklahoma City Blazers defenseman Les Borsheim is skating in the training camp of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, head coach Doug Sauter announced today.
Borsheim, a 6-2, 220-pounder from Watrous, Saskatchewan picked up nine points (1-8-9) while leading the team in penalty minutes (250) and major penalties (12) while playing in 61 games. He was voted Most Improved Player by the Blazers fans and team last season.
"Flyers general manager Bobby Clarke said that Les did very well in the rookie camp," said Sauter. "Now, he is skating with the entire team and he hasn't disappointed the coaching staff. They have moved him up to play a power-forward position and he has adapted well. I don't plan on him skating in Oklahoma City this season."
Oklahoma City has 17 players signed for the season. They include all-star Blair Manning, Bryan Forslund, Marty Standish, Peter Arvanitis, Ryan Watson, Brad Herauf, Ryan Campbell, Tim Laurila, Shane Fukushima, Justin Kot, Quinn Henry, Mike Lucci and goaltenders Boyd Ballard and Sean Connors.
