(BOWIE, PA)- Josh Bonifay homered and drove in four runs as the Curve completed a three-game series sweep of the Bowie Baysox with a 7-2 win on Thursday night at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, MD.
Bonifay, who went 3-for-3 with a home run in Wednesday night's win over the Baysox, ripped a three-run homer in the fourth inning and doubled home a run in the sixth to key the Curve offense.
The win moves the Curve above the .500 mark at 13-12 on the season and the club has won the first three games of a season-long nine-game roadtrip.
Mike Connolly (1-1) pitched a season-high seven innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits, to earn his first win at the Double-A level. The 20-year old did not walk a batter and struck out two in notching the victory.
The Curve will open a three-game weekend series at Reading on Friday night with a 7:05 p.m. game at First Energy Stadium in Reading. Right-hander Ben Shaffar (0-1, 4.50) will take the mound for the Curve against Reading righty Seung Lee in the series lidlifter.
