Bombers Win Streak Ends on Road against Victoria

Bryan/College Station - The Bombers offense struggled to get going Tuesday night in Victoria. The offense was held to four hits on the night with Cole Coker's two RBI double to right being the only one with runners in scoring position.

The Generals struck first after Tanner Roach doubled to lead off the 1st inning. Roach attempted to steal third when Jacob Padilla's throw sailed into left allowing Roach to score the first run of the ball game.

The Bombers returned fire the very next inning taking advantage of some General's miscues. Hunter Dobbins led off the inning by reaching on and error followed by a Ridge Rogers walk. Jordan Yeatts was the next batter up and was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Coker who proceeded to double to right to plate two Bombers runs and taking a momentary 2-1 lead.

The Generals also responding the following inning as Jonathan Tapia doubled to lead off the inning and would come into score on a groundout from Jose Diaz to tie the game at two. Victoria would take the lead for good in the 4th scoring on a Zac Vooletich single to left plating Payton Robertson. The Generals would tack on five more runs as the game went on to close out a 8-2 victory.

Logan Teske got the start on the mound for Brazos Valley going 4 innings giving up five runs on four hits. He was followed by Cole Sichley, John Altman, and Joe Buckendorff. Sichley threw two frames striking out four batters. Altman and Buckendorff each threw a single inning with Altman getting two strikeouts and Buckendorff getting one.

The Bombers will face off against these same Victoria Generals tomorrow night at 7:05 before having two days off and returning to action against the Texarkana Twins July 27th & 28th.
