Brazos Valley Bombers News Release
Bryan/College Station, TX - It was a jovial night at Travis Field as the Bombers won at home at Travis Field, while shortstop Christian Sepulveda set the single season Bombers home run record with his 8th of the season.
The Bombers got on the board early as Alex Nielsen drove in Cam Haller to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead. The Bombers wouldn't score again until the 8th inning when DJ Petrinsky doubled in Robin Adames. This was followed by Christian Sepulveda who crushed his 8th home run of the season, giving him sole possession of the all-time single season Bombers home run record. His two run shot to left field gave the Bombers a 4-0 lead entering the ninth inning. While the Marshals were able to score a pair in the ninth, the Bombers held on to split the series.
On the mound, it was a group effort as the Bombers utilized a staff night, where no Bombers pitcher threw more than three innings. Ryan Johnson began the night on the mound and faced the minimum during his trip through the Marshals lineup. Bradley Griggs picked up where Johnson left off, throwing three shutout innings for the Bombers. Bryce Miller and Brady Batten came on to pitch the final three innings for the Bombers, and held on to give the Bombers the victory.
The Bombers head on the road for a pair of games in Acadiana before having a pair of off days. The next homestand begins July 26th and will feature Fireworks Friday and Star Wars Night on July 27th against the Texarkana Twins.
