Bombers Sign Borlik from WMU

BATTLE CREEK, MI- The Bombers are happy to announce the signing of right-handed sophomore Patrick Borlik from Western Michigan University.

Patrick Borlik: 6'2-190, R/R, RHP, Western Michigan University (SO.), South Bend, IN.

Patrick becomes the first Bronco from Western Michigan to sign with the Bombers for the 2012 season. In his freshman year at WMU Borlik appeared in 18 games, mostly from the bullpen, and finished with an 0-1 record and an ERA of 5.74. Last summer he played with the Southern Ohio Copperheads of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. He ended the summer with a 2-0 record and an ERA of 3.98 as the Copperheads made it to the league championship game.

This season at WMU, Borlik has been very effective out of the bullpen. He leads the Broncos in appearances (18), ERA (2.45), and saves (3). He currently has a 5-3 record on the mound and opposing hitters are hitting a mere .207 against him.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the prestigious Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America.
