Brazos Valley Bombers News Release
Bryan-College Station, TX - The Bombers fell to the Cane Cutters tonight after they gained momentum and kept it during the sixth inning. Brazos Valley made a lot of contact with the ball tonight but couldn't convert them into runs. The Cane Cutters went on a run later in the game making it difficult to come back from and unfortunately ended in a loss for the evening. The Bombers now prepare to go on the road before returning to Edible Field Friday evening to take on Cane Cutters for a rematch. Despite the loss spirits are high for this team as they are confident in securing road wins in the next few days.
Even though the Bombers fell short of victory today, there was still a lot of positive momentum happening around the field and on the mound. Wyatt Wick excelled on the dirt today with 5ks and no runs given up. The only balls hit today from Wick resulted in ground outs and fly outs proving how impressive the athlete's arm was tonight. Having pitched well, the Cane Cutters didn't have a single run on the board until the sixth inning showing how dominant the pitching staff is for this team. On offense Jordan Medellin saw good results hitting a double through the gap in Left Field proving his skills and explosiveness at the plate. Garrison Weiss also logged a base hit tonight continuing to put up stats and being one of the best hitters on the team this season. Catcher Cameron Donley also saw an upward trend tonight on defense, being quick to throw a Cane Cutter out at second to close out an inning showing off his ability to be ready and be rapid in the catcher position.
