
Bombers Look Like a Million Bucks on International Millionaire Night

Bryan-College Station, TX (July 26, 2015) - The Bombers' two-game homestand concluded on Sunday night with International Millionaire Night. One lucky fan became an international millionaire on Sunday night and the Bombers wore special international-themed uniforms, sponsored by Batteries + Bulbs. Sunday was also be Seniors Free Sunday with Baseball Bingo, thanks to Brazos Bingo.
After scoring three runs in the first inning, the Bombers never looked back and cruised to a 13-1 victory over the Woodlands Strykers to give the Bombers a sweep of the series and a perfect two-game homestand.
Blake Kopetsky was named Cellucor Player of the Game after a four-hit night with two runs scored and an RBI. Jacob Chappell drove in three runs and scored a couple more out of the leadoff spot to help lift the Bombers' offense to another double-digit victory.
Dakota Mekkes started on the mound for the Bombers and pitched six innings without allowing an earned run and striking out seven opposing batters. Andre Shewcraft ad Blaine Suehs combined for three shutout innings out of the bullpen and Suehs struck out the side in the 9th.
Following the commanding victory on Sunday night, the Bombers' record now stands at 35-8 overall and 16-4 in the second half. The Bombers hold a one-game lead over the Victoria Generals for first place in the second half and the two teams will square off at Cellucor Field on Tuesday and Wednesday for a leg up in the second-half race.
The Bombers are off tomorrow before beginning their series against the Victoria Generals. Tuesday will be Epic Extravaganza Night, thanks to Oldham Goodwin; as well as Trophy Tuesday where the Bombers honor local community members for their recent accomplishments. Wednesday night will be Strike Out Cancer Night, sponsored by St. Joseph's Health System. Show your support by wearing pink to the ballgame on Wednesday night. Wednesday is also Weenie Wednesday, with 90 cent hot dogs to celebrate Citizen's State Bank's 90th Anniversary.
