Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bryan-College Station, Texas - The red hot Victoria Generals rolled into Edible Field to face the Bombers for the first of three games at Edible Field this week. The Generals, who are 9-1 following the all-star break, held the (23-12) Bombers to four hits and cruised to an 8-1 victory on Tuesday night.

Leadoff batter and shortstop, Jackson Cobb, recorded half of the Bombers' hits, a leadoff single in the 1st and another single in the 3rd, finishing 2-2 at the plate with a pair of walks.

The lone Bombers run came in the bottom of the 4th off an RBI double from Riley Bender to score Brayden Evans from 2nd.

Victoria finished with 11 hits on the night, peppering the first three Bombers pitchers before Patrick Hail came in to start the 8th and close the game. The Generals' eight runs were scattered throughout the game, with a pair in the 1st, a pair in the 3rd, one in the 5th and 6th innings, and another two in the 7th.

Bombers' closer Patrick Hail was one shining part of the Brazos Valley's performance tonight as he threw two three-batter innings in the 8th and 9th to ensure Victoria's lead didn't get that out of hand. In the six batters he faced, Hail had a team-high four strikeouts tonight.

The Bombers have a chance at redemption tomorrow night as the two sides face off again at Edible Field. After a lackluster last four games, the Bombers hope to get a spark in their offense as we near the TCL playoffs.
