Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bryan/College Station, TX - The Bombers dropped a tight contest to the Acadiana Cane Cutters Wednesday night by a score of 6-4. It was a back and forth game as both teams traded runs in the middle before the Cane Cutters were able to plate a run in the 8th inning to stretch their lead to two for good.

Acadiana got things started off quickly as they plated a run in the opening frame as Champ Artigues doubled and later scored off an error by the catcher Bergeron on a throw to third that went to the outfield.

The Cane Cutters kept up their offense scoring the next three runs to take a commanding 4-0 lead through the top half of the 4th. Acadiana sprayed a barrage of singles in the 3rd and 4th to score their runs off the bat's of Alex Hannie and again by Artigues.

The Bombers would provide a strong answer in the bottom half of the 4th plating three runs to cut into the Cane Cutter lead. The inning started with a double, walk, single, double to plate all three runs before Acadiana shut down the Bombers offense. The Teams would trade runs in the 5th before a double and a single in the 8th put the Cane Cutters up 6-4 to cap the scoring.

Neither team's starters went deep into the game with Bailey Hargrave going three innings and Tyler Flores going four innings for the Bombers. Acadiana won the battle of the Bullpens as they were able to plate two runs off the Bombers relievers.

At the plate a couple of Bombers had productive days with Bryant Shellenbarger collecting two triples, Tyler Cauley driving in two on his 1st hit as a Bomber, Kyle Bergeron who reached base three times, and Logan Sartori who went 2-4 with an RBI.

The Bombers will return to action tomorrow night as they hit the road to take on the Victoria Generals at 7:05
