Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers announced today that $83,412 in cash, tickets and merchandise has been donated to local charities throughout the 2006-2007 hockey season.

Almost half of the money raised was through the Bombers charity jersey auctions, headlined this season by two auctions in the month of March. On March 10, Military Appreciation Night jerseys were auctioned off and raised $9,400 for the Fisher/Nightingale Houses at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Just two weeks later, Bombers fans raised nearly $5,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton by bidding on commemorative jerseys at the post-game auction.

The Bombers gave to more than 300 not-for-profit organizations in the Miami Valley, including The Children's Medical Center of Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital, and For Love of Children, Inc., which received more than 500 teddy bears from the Bombers' annual "Teddy Bear Toss."

Bombers players and the mascot, Bucky, were also present in the community, making numerous appearances at local elementary schools and other youth oriented events. Highlighting the season was a player-coordinated fundraiser for the team chaplain, Paul Issacs, to help with his overseas adoption efforts, and a Habitat for Humanity project in Dayton.

The Bombers open the 2007-2008 season on Saturday night, October 20, against the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. Group tickets for Opening Night are on sale now by calling 775-4747.

Full and partial season ticket packages for the Bombers' 2007-08 campaign are also on sale, starting as low as $99! Individual game tickets will go on sale on September 1. For more information, please contact the Bombers at (937) 775-4747 or visit www.daytonbombers.com.

The Dayton Bombers are the proud "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.
