Brazos Valley Bombers News Release
Lafayette, LA - For the second night in a row, the Bombers were not lacking for offense at the plate. After scoring 9 runs in the series opener last night, the Bombers completed the sweep, scoring 7 runs in the Bombers' 7-4 win over the Cane Cutters.
The Bombers got on the board in the first inning off a solo home run from Casey Danley, his second home run in two days, to make the lead 1-0 in favor of the Bombers. Acadiana would answer back with a pair of runs in the second and third innings, to take a 4-1 lead.
The Bombers would then send two across the plate in the fourth inning, the first being Robin Adames, who scored on a Sy Snedeker walk. The second run of the inning came when Christian Sepulveda scored on a wild pitch to cut the Cane Cutter lead to 4-3. The Bombers tied the game in the 5th inning, when a RBI single from Christian Sepulveda drove in Cam Blake. Then, Sy Snedeker picked up his second RBI of the game, as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, making the game 5-4.
The Bombers were able to pick up insurance runs in both the 6th and 8th innings. Cam Blake drove in the run in the 6th inning on a RBI single, scoring Casey Danley. The final run of the game came when Zach Iverson hit a sac fly to left field, which brought home Cam Blake and made the score 7-4.
The Bombers will have the next four days off before heading to Texarkana for a pair of games. The next homestand begins July 26th and will feature Fireworks Friday and Star Wars Night on July 27th against the Texarkana Twins.
