Bombers Close Out Regular Season Leading the TCL in Stolen Bases and With a 3-Game Win Streak!

Bryan/College Station, TX - The Bombers got hot in the third and seventh inning tonight giving them a relatively easy win tonight over the Seguin River Monsters. The final score for this Brazos Valley vs Seguin matchup came out to be 8-5 with 10 hits earned by the Bombers. Brazos Valley also took the lead in most stolen bases in the league tonight therefore they end the regular season on top in that category! The Bombers will begin playoff baseball next week in a road trip to Louisiana with momentum to give high hopes in bringing home a championship win!

Things kicked off offensively for the Bombers late in the third inning with four hits and three runs. The first hit of the night was earned by Kamden Kelton with a single through the six hole to put the Bombers back on base. After Kelton followed up his single with a stolen base, Jacob Guerrero logged an RBI single up left field to score Kelton. Parker Airhart kept the team rolling with a single deep into center to advance runners and keep the hitting streak alive. Christian Smith Johnson, who has been a constant in Bombers hitting recently, smoked a ball into center field for a 2 RBI triple scoring Jacob Guerrero and Parker Airhart.

The Bombers played another phenomenal offensive inning in the 7th to keep momentum going from Jacob Guerrero's single through the 6 hole in the sixth. Smith Johnson earned a leadoff single into centerfield to start the Bomber's second hitting streak of the night. After Seguin pitching allowed walks to advance base runners, Ben Columbus launched a ball deep into left field almost clearing the wall for a 2 RBI double to score Cole Plowman and Maddox Miesse. Columbus followed up his double with a stolen base to put the Bombers in the lead for most stolen bases in the TCL this season. Kamden Kelton put up the second RBI double of the inning with a ball hit into left field to send Columbus home and extend the Bombers lead.

TAMUCC Islander, Christian Smith Johnson almost went full cycle tonight with a double up the right field foul line in the 8th coming after a leadoff single and triple! The next Brazos Valley hit in this inning was yet another triple for the team earned by Cole Plowman and this hit also gave him an RBI as Smith Johnson earned an easy run. This would bring the score to 8-5 after the 8th as well as having 10 hits on the board. The top of the 9th resulted in 3 easy outs for the Bombers defense to give this team a 3 game win streak to close out the regular season with hopes of keeping this alive in playoffs starting next week!
