Bombers Clinch with Win Tonight

Dubois County Bombers News Release


A Dubois County Bombers' win tonight at League Stadium in Huntingburg gives them the first half championship of the Prospect League and home field advantage for a first round single game Divisional Playoff on August 7th. Tonight, the Bombers host the Terre Haute Rex and,with 5 games to play in the first half of the season, hold a 4 game edge over both the Rex and the Quincy Gems.

A win for the Bombers would give them a 5 game cushion over the Rex with 4 games left and eliminate the Rex. If Quincy wins tonight against Danville, a Bomber win would leave Quincy 4 games out with 4 to play and the Bombers hold tie-breakers vs the Gems based on a 3-1 record in head to head competition. The first half of the Prospect League season conlcudes following games played this Sunday July 1st.

Alex Britt takes the mound tonight for the Bombers. In 4 games, all starts, Britt sports a 2-1 record, with a 1.98 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 27 innings.

So it's win and you're in as the Bombers go for the clincher. Come on out and see all the action! Gates open at 6:00 pm. Game time is 7:15 EDT.
