Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bryan/College Station, TX - The Bombers win at home once again to beat Acadiana 9-4. This comes after a 6 game win streak and one loss on the road. With tonight's win the Bombers officially clinch a playoff position, a first round home game, and remain first in the TCL. The Bombers made great defensive plays to only allow 5 hits all night and secure a win supplemented by 9 runs on the offense and good pitching. This team will play their next game at home with the same opponent tomorrow night. Offense kept good momentum all night allowing them to dominate at the plate and this shows no sign of slowing down as this Brazos Valley team looks to have a repeat tomorrow.

Cole Modgling who was player of the game this game continues to be a major asset for this team earning a base hit in the first inning to advance power 5 hitter Casey Sunseri to third. Later in that half inning Simon Larragna logged an rbi to score Casey Sunseri for bombers first run of the evening. They continued the good energy in the second inning with an infield base hit for Jacob Guerrero and continued to earn runs with Jordan Medellin scoring on a wild pitch. In the third Ben Columbus showed off his power with a backside double. The fourth inning showed a streak of runs earned from Jordan Medellin, Robert Oropeza, Casey Sunseri, and Cole Modgling.

In the sixth inning Hunter Autrey logged a backside double that almost went out followed by a pull side bomb that hit the net for an RBI double by Jacob Guerrero scoring Hunter Autrey. With a wild pitch right after Jacob Guerrero scored showing why he's a national champion in his school year at Angelo State. In the seventh inning the player of the game Cole Modgling continued to dominate with an infield ground ball and then followed that up when he stole second. To secure tonight's win Princeton pitcher Justin Kim logged a no hitter in the last inning allowing the final score of 9-4 to be official. If the Bombers win tomorrow they will clinch the first place position for the playoffs this season.
