
Bombers Are All Smiles After Shutout Win on Bright White Night

Bryan-College Station, TX (July 16, 2015) - On Thursday night, the Bombers began a four-game homestand with a shutout victory over the Acadiana Cane Cutters by a score of 5-0. The Bombers have now won five games in a row heading into the second game of the series on Friday night.
The Bombers were led by outfielder Ben Hollas, who went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Ben was subsequently named Cellucor Player of the Game for his performance. On the mound, C.J. Gregory was masterful once again, going three and one-third innings while only allowing one hit, no runs, and striking out three Cane Cutters. The victory improves C.J.'s record to 8-0 and puts him in a tie for the TCL record for wins in a season with former Bomber Brian Borski.
The Bombers' record improves to 28-6 overall and 9-2 in the second half. In search of their ninth consecutive half-season championship; the Bombers hold a one and a half game over second place for the lead in the second half standings.
Thursday night's weekly promotion was Thirsty Thursday. Beer, soft drinks, and margaritas were one dollar all night long, thanks to Western Beverages. Thursday night was also Bright White Night, sponsored by Modern Dentistry, with an Improv Comedy show taking place at Cellucor Field.
Friday night will be the second game of the two-game series against the Cane Cutters, as well as St. Patty's Day in July at Cellucor Field with special St. Patrick's Day-themed uniforms to be worn by the players, sponsored by Brazos Valley Trash Valet. Friday the 17th will also be FANtastic Friday and after the game, Black Irish Texas will be performing live at Cellucor Field.
