Bombers Add Three Pitchers from Southland Conference

May 2, 2018 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL) - Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bryan/College Station, Texas - The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce the addition of Southland Conference pitchers Dustin Lacaze, Jared Biddy, and Jake Norton to the 2018 Brazos Valley Bombers roster.

Dustin Lacaze is a Redshirt Sophomore pitcher from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Lacaze started the 2018 as the Friday night starter for the Islanders and pitched very well in non-conference play. His best start of the season thus far came against Nicholls State, where we threw 8.1 innings of scoreless baseball, only allowing 6 hits and recording 8 strikeouts in a win for the Islanders. On the season, Lacaze has 49 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched, while keeping the ball in the yard with only two home runs allowed on the season.

Jared Biddy is a Junior pitcher for Southeastern Louisiana, in his first season there after committing to Texas Tech following High School. Before coming to Southeastern, Biddy pitched at Seward County Community College, where he served as the team's best pitcher. There Biddy led the team in strikeouts, wins, ERA, innings pitched, and opponent batting average. He has carried that success with him to Southeastern, where he has recorded a strikeout per inning, and has a 2.77 ERA.

Jake Norton is a Junior pitcher for Stephen F. Austin University by way of North Central Texas College. At North Central, Norton was heavily relied upon, tallying 63.1 innings of work. During his team leading number of innings, Norton was tough to hit as he racked up 75 batters last season. This year, Norton has continued to miss bats as he has over a strikeout per inning pitched and has allowed only 10 hits on the season.
