OTTAWA, ON- The Windy City ThunderBolts took the first game of a three game set against the Ottawa Titans 6-3 Tuesday evening at Ottawa Stadium.

The ThunderBolts struck the first run of the game for the 19th time this season. Following back to back base hits by Junior Martina and Micah Yonamine, in the top of the second inning, Paul Comulous hit a ground ball to second base. Ottawa (14-20) second-baseman Jackie Urbez decided to flip to second base for a fielder's choice play scoring Martina home from third base bringing a 1-0 Windy City (13-20) lead into the bottom of the second inning.

The ThunderBolts struck again in the top of the third inning. With two outs, Bren Spillane reached base following an error shortstop Evan Berkey who misplayed a turbulent ground ball. Shortly after the error, Bolts designated hitter Peyton Issacson drilled an RBI-double to right centerfield accelerating a 2-0 Bolts lead through three innings of play.

After a lead off walk to Coumoulos and a Micah Yonamine single, Windy City added a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning courtesy of walks and errors. The Bolts made it 3-0 from a sacrifice bunt by Windy City catcher Matt Morgan. However, the ball was overthrown by Titans pitcher Zac Westscott to third base, leading to the third Bolts run of the evening. Windy City made it 4-0 thanks to Titans shortstop Evan Berkey mishandling a routine ground ball off the Batt of Jake Boone. Bereky committed three errors in the contest, and following the half inning was substituted by infielder Brian Bannon.

Ottawa rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning. After a lead off double by Sicnarf Loopstock and a single by Jackie Urbabaez, designated hitter Jamey Smart knocked in Loopstock with a an RBI single and Manny Garcia drove in another run doubling off Taylor Sugg (2-1) to make it a 4-2 ThunderBolts advantage through five innings.

Yonamine drove his third hit of the game to left field and collected his first RBI of the evening in the top of the seventh inning, scoring Windy City designated hitter Peyton Issacson who led off the inning with a single to right field aiding the Windy City lead to 5-2.

A passed ball scored a the third Titan run in the bottom of the seventh inning, Windy City added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning from second baseman Jake Boone, padding the Bolts lead to 6-3 and Boone's second RBI of the evening.

ThunderBolt relief pitchers Cal Djuraskovic and Derrick Edington each tossed scoreless frames relieving Bolts pitcher Austin Marozas in the seventh and eighth inning respectfully. The cherry on top came in the bottom of the ninth, as Daiveyon Whittle struck out the side in securing his fourth save of the season.

The Bolts are back in action against the Ottawa Titans Wednesday night at 5:30 CT. Windy City LHP Kenny Mathews (0-4, 6.46) plans to square off against LHP Grant Larson (2-4, 3.74).
