Rockford Lightning News Release

Rockford, IL. The Rockford Lightning announced Monday (pending league approval) another "big signing" for the 2004-05 season. Stais Boseman has agreed to suit up in Lightning blue and gold for the upcoming season, making himself the second former Great Lakes Storm player to sign with the Bolts in two weeks.

Last season, Boseman started 38 games for the Storm, averaging almost 15 points a game, pulling in 141 rebounds, and grabbing 68 steals. Stais went to the CBA All-Star Game in 2004.

A native of Inglewood, California, Boseman played his college basketball at the University of Southern California (USC). He finished his career ranked eighth in the Pac-10 and first in USC history in steals (208). Boseman's 1,248 points ranked him fourth on the school's all-time scoring list and his 145 three-pointers placed him third all-time. He also became only the fifth player in USC history to have more than 1,000 points and 250 assists in a career. During his senior season, Boseman was named to the All Pac-10 First Team, after averaging 16 points and leading USC in scoring 13 times. After college, Boseman was drafted by the Lightning in '97, when Coach Daleo was an assistant coach for the Bolts.

"Stais is a CBA veteran who is tough and dependable," says Coach Daleo, "He has an edge. At the beginning of the season, he called me with interest in playing with the Lightning. That says a lot in my book!"
