Vancouver, BC- In a close game Vancouver could not recover after falling behind by 2 runs in the seventh, giving the Boise Hawks the Northwest League Championship by a score of 5-3.
Boise came out strong in the first when Ryan Harvey hit a 2-run homerun, his fourth of the playoffs, to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Vancouver added one run in the third and two more in the sixth, to enter the seventh inning with a 3-3 tie.
The winning runs came in in the seventh and Boise closed out the series to wrap up the last game at Nat Bailey Stadium for this season. The Vancouver Canadians finished the season as the number one team in the West Division of the Northwest League for the first time since they arrived in Vancouver.
Congratulations go out to the Boise Hawks for a great season. The Canadians had a tremendous season themselves. Keep your eyes and ears open for next year's Oakland Athletics draft picks; next season is only 9 months away.
