Maryland NightHawks News Release

Rockville, MD. Maryland Nighthawks forward/assistant coach Lawrence Moten knows a little bit about the team's special guest coach for a game against the Baltimore Pearls on Sunday, Feb 26 at 6pm. The all-time leading scorer in Big East Conference history and one of the greatest players ever in Syracuse University history will be reunited with Coach Boeheim.

Coach Barbara Boeheim, that is.

The sister of Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim, Barbara, is a retired government working living in Northern Virginia. This will be her American Basketball Association (ABA) and overall coaching debut.

"I've been a lifelong basketball fan, and a lot of that is because of my brother," said Boeheim. "I'm really excited to follow him into the coaching world as part of the Maryland Nighthawks."

The Nighthawks (20-8) are hoping some of the coaching magic is found in DNA.

"At this point in the season, we cannot take any opponent lightly," said Nighthawks owner Tom Doyle. "Barbara Boeheim has been down the championship road before and we will need her experience Sunday against Baltimore."

The Maryland Nighthawks play their home games at Montgomery College - Rockville Campus. Tickets are available online at Ticketweb.com or through the MCC Box Office. Admission for children (12 and under) is $5. Adult (13 and over) tickets are $10.00. Senior Citizens (55 and over) can purchase $7 tickets at the box office on game days. A limited numbe of floor seats are available for $20 at 301 758 1090. For more information visit www.marylandnighthawks.com or www.abalive.com.
