Question from Ben W., Los Angeles: "Why did you choose Rochester for the ABA playoffs when you have so many teams on the west coast?"
Answer: Ben, thanks for the email. We chose Rochester because they have a fabulous playing venue, The Blue Cross Arena, their attendance has been excellent throughout the season, they have a tremendous market and operations department, extraordinary media/press relations, a great ABA team and are in one of the best sports cities in the U.S. We think the RazorSharks will put on a first-class event from start to finish - showing the ABA and ABA Entertainment - at its very best from start to finish. There are many good cities and good venues and good ABA teams on the west coast. Perhaps we can look at one of them next year or the year after. This year, it's Rochester, NY - and we couldn't be more excited. If you have a question, please email joenewman@abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
