Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield announced today that 200 soldiers and their guests from the 3rd Battalion 27th Field Artillery Regiment based at Fort Bragg will be in attendance at tonight's game between the Bobcats and the New Orleans Hornets at Time Warner Cable Arena(r). The contingent attended this morning's team shootaround, met with players afterwards for autographs and pictures, and then headed to uptown Charlotte's EpiCentre for lunch and bowling at StrikeCity.

"These are the men and women on the front lines of defending our nation and the ideals we believe in, and it's an honor to spend the day and share with them the kinds of sports and entertainment options that are available in uptown Charlotte," said Whitfield.

During the post-shootaround meet-and-greet with players, the soldiers presented Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown with a plaque commemorating the visit and game.

"The soldiers and families are excited to be able to attend this event and share some camaraderie with our home basketball team," said Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Bob Agans. "We are very appreciative of the Bobcats and StrikeCity for their generosity and support of our Armed Forces."

"These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy every day freedoms; StrikeCity is honored to open our doors for them and their families," said James White, StrikeCity Operating Partner.
