Bismarck Bobcats News Release
Today the Bobcats announced the signing of four players for the 2007-08 season, marking them the first players signed to play for the Bobcats 10th anniversary season.
Two players will be coming to the Bobcats from the Russell Stover Stars, a Tier 1 Midget Major hockey team in Kansas City, MO. Andy Keogh is a strong defenseman and Jake Kremer is a very competitive goalie who averaged a .919 SV% with Russel Stover. Both players led the Stars to the 2007 USA Hockey Central Division Championship during the 2006-07 season. "Both of these players had outstanding seasons," said Bobcats head coach Dane Litke, "They played on a good team that finished 3rd at the "AAA" Midget National Tournament."
John Clark, a defenseman, from Lake of the Woods High School in Baudette, Minnesota is a quick player who is very good with the puck and the Bobcats will look to him to make smart plays on the ice. According to Litke, "John is a good all-around defenseman. He's very quick with good hockey instincts; he has a lot of potential and will be a good asset to the Bobcats."
Niko Kapetonavic is a big forward from Team Wisconsin. "Niko has the ability to change a game all by himself," said Litke, "He has good hands and a good nose for the net. We were looking for some size up front, and Niko provides that for us."
The Bobcats are hosting three open try-out camps this year - in Trenton, Michigan, Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Arvado, Colorado. The final invitational camp will be held in Bismarck August 3-5. The Bobcats will also be hosting their 4Th annual youth summer camp June 25-29; sign-up deadline is June 18th.
