Bismarck Bobcats News Release

The Bismarck Bobcats announced today that they have made a trade for two players that will hopefully help their playoff cause. The 'Cats traded veteran Captain Ryan Kayfes to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs for forward Zach Miller and a future trade that is still in the works.

Kayfes, a product of Maple Grove, Minnesota, spent 2 and ¾ seasons with the Bobcats totaling 57 points and 346 penalty minutes. Without a home for college, Kayfes was shipped to Fairbanks for guaranteed playoff exposure to try to advance his career to college. In return the Bismarck Bobcats got an in-state forward with a lot of promise not only for this year but for next as well and future trade that should help fill the void left by Kayfes. Zach Miller is an 18 year old forward from Grafton, ND that shows hard work night in and night out and a future trade that is in negotiation.

This trade for the 'Cats adds a few pieces to the puzzle that have been missing all year. With the addition of Miller up front, Bismarck will now have more size and skill on the front half. Miller and the future player will both be great additions to the line up not only five on five but on special teams as well.

The new comers for the Bobcats will hopefully do good things for the Bobcats who currently occupy the 5th place position in the Central Division. The 'Cats have fought their way into a four way dog fight with Alexandria, Fargo-Moorhead and Springfield for the final two playoff spots. Bismarck's next opponent will be the second place Southern Minnesota Express Tonight at the VFW Sports Center in Bismarck. The doors open at 6 PM for 75 cent beers followed by the puck drop at 7! For tickets log onto www.bismarckbobcats.com or call the ticket office at (701)222-3300.
