Bobby Purify, Former CU Standout, Signs With Colorado Ice

Fort Collins, CO- The Colorado Ice Indoor Football team announced on Thursday, December 17th that former University of Colorado and San Francisco 49er running back Bobby Purify has signed with the Colorado Ice for the 2010 season.

The 6'0" 212 lb RB/WR had an outstanding football career with the CU Buffaloes, finishing his career with 3,016 yards rushing and 508 yards receiving. Purify is third in the CU football record books for most rushing yardage. While on the CU roster Purify ran for 80 yards in the 2004 Houston Bowl helping the Buffs win 33 to 28 against UTEP. Purify was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an unrestricted free agent in 2005 and has spent time on the Green Bay Packers practice squad.

Collins Sanders, Head Coach of the Colorado Ice stated that, "By adding the quality of player like Bobby Purify to the Colorado Ice and in the IFL shows that the league is attracting serious athletes by being the "Premier" league in the industry."

The Colorado Ice owner John Cunningham is, "looking forward to Purify joining the team in camp starting after the new year. Bobby will be a great fit for our offense and the Colorado football fans will have another home grown athlete to come cheer for in the 2010 Season."

The Colorado Ice are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado.
